So! Recovery is going well. I was walking just 6 hours after surgery and started physical therapy 2 days later. I got home from the surgery center feeling like a million bucks. I remember thinking, "I should have surgery every day!" I wasn't in any pain and felt so relaxed. I didn't realize that the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet! The next 3 days were pretty miserable. Pain meds made me sicky sick sick, so I switched to tylenol only. It does the job and beats feeling nauseous and dizzy all the time.

The one week mark was a huge turning point. My energy levels shot up and I have been progressing really well. I used a walker for the first week and have now graduated to a cane. I am pretty blown away at how quickly I'm going back to doing my every day normal routine. I shaved my legs today for the first time and without too too much difficulty. I'll be cleared to drive at the end of this week. Nuts.

I've been so blessed to have my mother in law with me almost every day. She is the best. I would have been so lonely and helpless without her! And of course John has been so sweet to me. We started our marriage off with the flu, pathetically trying to take care of each other. But it made our love so much stronger! And I feel that way during this process as well. It is wonderful to love and serve one another. I am truly happy in my life. I know that I am being watched over by a loving Heavenly Father. I know he's making so many good things happen for us. I'm just feeling particularly grateful today.

Such wonderful news! I did the exact same thing on the meds. Dizzy, nauseated, headache. Got off of them the second I got home. SO happy you are up and moving, you terrific lady!
